For Immediate Release: 03-January-2018
NEW YORK, Preeminent thinkers and senior practitioners announced today the launch of the Institute for Contemporary Leadership (ICL), an applied-research and learning community, whose mission is to enable senior leaders to make a step change in their leadership, and have greater impact in their organization in times of disruptive change.
According to David Peterson, Executive Director of ICL and Head of Google’s Leadership Development Center of Expertise, “Contemporary reality is characterized by disruption – in markets, politics, and technology. The old rules don’t apply anymore; leaders need new, more dynamic forms of development. ICL helps leaders build the courage and capabilities to lead into the new and the next.”
ICL is composed of two synergistic communities:
Leader Community – A community of senior leaders committed to pushing and supporting one another in their evolution into elite leaders capable of transforming their organizations. ICL’s Leader Community is designed for senior leaders who operate in an industry undergoing significant disruption, who are responsible for transforming their organizations, and who have reached peak capacity and must find new ways to lead their companies going forward.
Research Community – A community of distinguished though leaders, Board Members, CHROs, and Chief Learning Officers focused on developing elite leaders capable of navigating contemporary challenges. Members of the Institute’s Research Community serve as co-researchers and co-creators in the Institute’s mission to explore the mechanisms and factors that result in leaders’ accelerated growth and development.
“What I love about ICL is that it synthesizes multiple leadership development approaches—executive coaching; a high-caliber, high-trust peer community; and disruptive developmental experiences—and couples them with the latest leadership thinking and research,” said Andrew Doyle, EVP & CHRO at OppenheimerFunds. “Much of what you experience at ICL you won’t find anywhere else.”
David Peterson is joined by three co-founders and leading practitioners in executive development, Dan Fisher, Beth Gullette, and Stephen Garcia, and ICL Advisory Board Member, Marshall Goldsmith.
ICL offers programs in New York City, San Francisco, and Houston.
