THE TEAM
Natalie is a Partner at at CLA and author of The Culture Formula. She is a trusted advisor to boards, CEOs, private equity investors, and executive leadership teams as well as an employee engagement and culture thought leader and evangelist, with keen insight into the depth and breadth of the employee experience and workplace belonging.
Prior to joining CLA, she served as Chief Workforce Scientist with Achievers – a global leader in employee experience solutions. Dr. Baumgartner also founded both Monarch – a consulting firm specializing in leadership development, merger & acquisition diligence/integration, selection, and strategic planning with a particular focus on private-equity portfolio companies and RoundPegg – a SaaS based Culture Measurement and Management platform, later acquired by Achievers.
Natalie graduated from UCLA and the University of Denver with a PhD in Clinical Psychology, specializing in Strength-Based Psychology, and received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
She is a regular contributor to Forbes and Harvard Business Review and a popular speaker – engaging audiences on topics related to belonging, culture and the employee experience, including a TED talk on the importance of culture fit.
Natalie has the great fortune to live in Boulder, Colorado with her family where you can find her on the ski slopes with her three daughters, just trying to keep up.

What is your favorite assessment and why?
I appreciate CLA’s Culture Lens because it makes something as powerful and complex as culture easier to understand and communicate.
Which of CLA’s service offerings do you most enjoy talking about?
Culture transformation is my passion, especially when it intersects with mergers and acquisitions or executive leadership team development. It's in these contexts that I’ve seen culture make the biggest impact.
When you're not helping clients navigate complex leadership challenges, where might we find you?
I’m usually playing with my three daughters, traveling with my family, or working on my pickleball game.
