Donald MinnickSenior Advisor

Don is a Senior Consultant and Faculty Member at Contemporary Leadership Advisors (CLA) where consults with Fortune 100 organizations around strategy, business culture, and leadership. In addition, he conducts executive assessment designed for selection, fit-for-role, and professional development. His most recent book, ‘The Phoenix Factor: how to be an indispensable contributor in a post-pandemic business world’, focuses on how individuals can advance their careers and contribute to their organizations by leveraging their talent and optimizing their luck.

 

Before joining CLA, Don was the founder of a national consulting business (Interpersonal Skills Laboratory) with specific focus on: high-performance team and organization behavior, building effective management and supervisory skills, and change management processes. More recently he was a managing consultant for an international business consultancy practice based in New York and London, working with global clients across oil and gas, financial, high-tech, and pharmaceutical industries.

 

Don earned an undergraduate degree in psychology from Rice University, and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Texas. He completed post-doctoral training in organization development at the NTL Institute. He has been adjunct professor in MBA programs at Rice University, University of Houston at Clear Lake and Texas State University and is a licensed psychologist. When he is not at work, Don collects antiques, art and vintage books. He plans to open a vintage book and vinyl shop in the small Texas hill country town where he lives.
